STAMFORD, CT, November 09, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stamford, CT based Power Marketing Partners, was selected by the American Diabetes Association to spearhead a relationship with celebrity role model, Laila Ali, in a new diabetes online fund raising effort, Kiss Diabetes Goodbye.

Kiss Diabetes Goodbye was developed to reinforce the Association's outreach efforts to raise awareness about the seriousness of diabetes throughout November's American Diabetes Month. Kiss Diabetes Goodbye, www.diabetes.org/kiss, invites consumers to help raise a total of $1 million in one month for diabetes research, advocacy, and education programs in the community.

John Hopper, Managing Partner of Power Marketing Partners believes "Ms Ali is the perfect face for this online fund raising campaign. Laila is a world class athlete from an American iconic family. Her long standing commitment to healthy living and personal best allows this campaign to transcend genders, ages and cultures as diabetes is an issue facing all of America."

"This is a wonderful campaign that can really make a difference if America truly takes action," says Ms Ali. "I'm such a believer in having children learn early about being active, eating well, and having a positive attitude, that it was easy to say "yes" to the American Diabetes Association in lending my support to Kiss Diabetes Goodbye!"

Throughout the month of November, the American Diabetes Association will be promoting Kiss Diabetes Goodbye via several channels, including radio media tours, national advertising in USA Today, as well as the Tribune newspapers, donated online banner advertising, direct mail, Association e-newsletters, and message boards.

Consumers visiting www.diabetes.org/kiss will be invited to join Ms. Ali and the American Diabetes Association in the fight against diabetes by making a donation to the cause; forwarding "kisses" or e-cards to their family and friends to raise awareness of the seriousness of diabetes; signing an e- petition to the new US President in support of Americans with diabetes; and sharing stories of inspiration from people affected by diabetes.
