Dr. Karen E. Agersborg celebrates 10 years of experience in health care

PHILADELPHIA, PA, January 3, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Karen E. Agersborg, Chief of Endocrinology at Chestnut Hill Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication to patient care, leadership, medical education and overall excellence in health care.

Dr. Agersborg is a Clinical Endocrinologist with over ten years of health care experience treating diabetes, insulin resistance, thyroid diseases, lipid abnormalities, osteoporosis, and all metabolic disorders.

She is a recognized medical educator for physicians in practice, medical residents, interns and medical students. Part of her lecture series includes the Community and Women's Health issues. Dr Agersborg received the Golden Apple Teaching Award from Chestnut Hill Hospital.

In 1998, Dr. Agersborg earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Ten years after graduating, she received the Outstanding Contribution Award for Teaching from this same institution.

In 1986, she earned a Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University.

Currently, she is a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology; as well as, a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internal Medicine.

In her off time, she has rowed for over 30 years and volunteers for the Penn Athletic Rowing Club in Philadelphia; serving both pre-elite and elite athletes.
